A story of gentrification and displacement of people in a community in Los Angeles, California.
People need to understand that greed is the root of all evil, for corporations to be so greedy that they will displaces thousands and millions of people only to reinvent a neighborhood that will exist largely of upper class individuals is sick to me. Hopefully spread the word of Gentrification and its true meaning, and exactly how it will affect people that look like me in the future. I hope that my movie can reach someone far away and spark a movement to save our communities all around the world and maybe spark something in their minds to encourage them to be an avid part of their community.
Showing what gentrification can do to just my little small community may inspire others to tell their story, to present their resistance in an effective and well thought out manner. Gentrification is not just a domestic issue here in the U.S. it is on a global scale. Gentrification is the cause for so many families being left without a home to live in, being pushed out of their homes and neighborhoods because the government and private corporations see their home, our homes as money makers. Kick the poor people off the land, make them false promises, and then hike up the price, let’s sell these units to the highest bidder. This is a human problem, this isn’t a real estate problem, or geographical problem, this is a person to person problem.
