My story is based on one of the most significant moments in my life. My great grandmother gave me sunglasses and told me the story behind those sunglasses.
I want to enlighten others about the Coptic culture and Coptic traditions. I want to show others how closely bonded Coptic families are, and how they go through so much in Egypt. I want people to actually know that there are Christians in Egypt, and I want them to ask questions about these Christians. They will not assume that the Copts are the indigenous Egyptians and ancestors of the pharaohs, but they will be enlightened about a cultural and religious group.
Educators can show my movie to their students when discussing Christianity in Africa, ancient Egypt, religious or cultural persecution, and the history of Egypt. Copts are very important to Egypt’s history, but are often left out of the history because of biased religious and political powers. I believe my story will echo in the hearts of those who yearn to help people who are suffering around the world.
