This story is about my grandmother and how she has influenced me to become the person I am today.
I would like my viewers to see and feel my family’s culture and values, and how they have transgressed into the future through the younger generations.
The broader impact possibilities of my story could include education of minorities, and teaching pride. I believe a lot of people from different minority groups have a similar story to my family’s; a story of our ancestors making sacrifices to ensure the following generations have more opportunities then they did. Many Hispanic youth find it hard to find role models who look like them and often lack pride in their culture. My story could be used to encourage others to find their story and tell it.
